Daffodil International University (DIU) had the honor of hosting Professor Sheikh Asif S. Mizan, Ph.D., the Vice Chancellor of Daaru Salam University in Mogadishu, Somalia.Professor Mizan’s visit aimed to explore potential avenues for collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the fields of education, healthcare, and
business.
On October 20, 2024, Professor Mizan delivered a keynote address at a seminar organized by the Career Development Center (CDC) at Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia, Dhaka. The seminar primarily focused on Somali students studying at DIU, providing
them with valuable insights and perspectives on the opportunities and challenges faced by Somalia and Bangladesh in these critical sectors.
Distinguished faculty members from DIU, including Dr. Tanvir Abir, Director of Career Development Center (CDC) , Dr. Fizar Ahmed, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Professor Dr. MD. Fokhray Hossain, also participated in the event.
During his address, Professor Mizan emphasized the immense potential for cooperation between Bangladesh and Somalia, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and business.
He highlighted the shared experiences and challenges faced by both countries and discussed potential strategies for fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
Following the seminar, Professor Mizan toured the green campus of Daffodil International University, expressing his admiration for the university’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment.
He also left a heartfelt message in the
visitor’s book, sharing his impressions of the visit and expressing his desire to
strengthen the ties between the two institutions.
